SBS-YHSV-Shrimp

Yellow Headed Syndrome Virus (Shrimp)

This disease caused by the yellow headed virus(YHV) a positive sense single stranded RNA virus related to coronavirus and arteriviruses. A closely related virus is the gill-associated virus(GAV),which is the type species of the genes okavirus.

YHSV leads to death after 2-4 days, YHSV is a viral infection of shrimp and prawn

HISTORY:- First detected in 1990 Thailand and in Australia 1995 in formed fields and spread through out the World.

FAMILY:-Roniviridae

SPECIES:-YELLOW HEAD VIRUS

PHYLUM:-pisurivicota

GENUS:-Okavirus

This disease is named because of change in the appearance of hepto pancreas from brown to yellow.

TREATMENT:-

  1. Treatment consists of binding to the -COOH end of the single strand RNA. Genetic silencing to Next generation.

  2. Already existing reproductive protein denaturation.

  3. Observed change of color within 8 Hrs from yellow to brown.

YHSV Caused to both shrimps and prawn:-

Crustaceans may have several common names but only one common name is provided in this list. Note: the terms "shrimp" and "prawn" can both be used.

  • Euphausia superba (Antarctic krill)

  • Exopalaemon styliferus (roshma prawn)

  • Farfantepenaeus aztecus (brown shrimp)

  • Farfantepenaeus duorarum (spotted pink shrimp)

  • Fenneropenaeus merguiensis (banana prawn)

  • Litopenaeus setiferus (northern white shrimp)

  • Litopenaeus stylirostris (blue shrimp)

  • Litopenaeus vannamei (whiteleg shrimp)

  • Macrobrachium sintangense (Sunda River prawn)

  • Marsupenaeus japonicus (kuruma prawn)

  • Metapenaeus affinis (jinga shrimp)

  • Metapenaeus bennettae (greentail prawn)

  • Metapenaeus brevicornis (yellow prawn)

  • Metapenaeus ensis (greasyback prawn)

  • Palaemon serrifer (barred estuarine shrimp)

  • Penaeus esculentus (brown tiger prawn)

  • Penaeus monodon (giant tiger prawn)

  • Yellow head  disease is a RNA  based viral disease  related to coronaviruses and arteriviruses which occurs in species like Penaeus monodon (giant tiger prawn).

  • YHD is a highly lethal, and contagious, killing shrimp quickly.

  • This disease is caused by  Yellow head virus(YHV).

  • Prevention/Treatment: New molecule is invented which prevents/cure by virucidal and virustatic activities.

  • The spread of the disease is controlled by Virustatic and virucidal activities performed by the same molecule.

  • This molecule can be administered as aqua feed supplement .

  • For Each viral cycle terms wise doses can be administered to prevent YHD in shrimp culture .

  • This leads to stress relieving to the shrimp where YHD is a stress related disease.

  • We have screened 900 new molecules and selected 1 molecule among them to prevent and control YHD.

  • Prevention consists of treating each viral cycle,  we are treating the shrimp to free from YHV and whenever shrimp is effected with YHV.

  • The Dosage can be customized to suit specific pond/area/country salinities
